SCHEEPMAKER, Teresa: A truly incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many. On May 25, 2015 at approximately 10:00 pm, Terri passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 64 years. Terri will be sadly missed by her loving husband Hans, children Stephen (Veronika), Katherine, Matthew, and three beautiful grandchildren Matthew and Stefani (Steve) and Sophia (Matthew). Terri was born in Edmonton in 1950 where she grew up, attended university, and met her husband Hans. In 1980, Terri moved to Kelowna with her husband and children to be closer to her parents Josef and Stefania. Terri spent many years volunteering at St. Joseph's Elementary School where she eventually became the secretary. Terri retired in 2010 and moved to Summerland with her husband Hans and son Matthew. In Summerland, Terri spent time volunteering at a local animal charity and thrift store. Her battle against cancer was courageous and hard fought. She truly was a warrior. Terri had a profound impact on all those who were given the opportunity to know her. The dedication, generosity, and compassion that she applied to the many endeavors that she undertook through the course of her life leaves a lasting legacy to her name. She will live on in our memories forever and will be greatly missed by the many who love her. He loved the outdoors and hiked all across North America. He is survived by his children, Lidia, Rosanna, Robert, Peter, Edward and Christopher, his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Elijah and Luka as well as his partner, Barbara. JENNINGS, Eva Gay: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eva Gay Jennings who died peacefully on May 16, 2015 with her children at her side in West Kelowna at the age of 90. Eva is survived by her daughter Ava (married to Wayne Fipke) of Kelowna and her sons, Terrance Gay (married to Linda Reid) of North Vancouver and Martin Opsal (married to Lise) of Vancouver. Two sisters, Phyllis Rivers and Helga Jennings, as well as nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren also survive her. Eva was predeceased by her husband Michael Jennings in 2003 and by her daughter, Renae MacLaughlin, in 2009. Eva was born in Calgary, Alberta. Her parents immigrated from Larvik, Norway. When she was young they moved to B.C., where Eva spent most of her life. She was an elegant and successful businesswoman and an award winning Realtor in the Okanagan. Nicknamed "Mrs. Westbank" by her friends, colleagues and clients she was a lady of great honesty and integrity. Eva helped many community groups as a benefactor and volunteer and was known for her gentle spirit, humour and wit. As an active outdoors woman, she enjoyed skiing and golfing. As a compassionate lover of animals, she was dedicated to the SPCA. In addition to other honours, in 2004 Eva was nominated for a Kelowna YWCA Woman of Distinction award for her lifetime achievements. A public Celebration of Life and a Memorial Service will be conducted by Reverend Edward Skutshek at Grace Lutheran Church, 1162 Hudson Road, West Kelowna at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 13, 2015. COULTHARD, JULIA (Judy): My mother, Judy passed away on May 24, 2015. She was born October 9, 1924 in Harrogate, Yorkshire, England. The daughter of Charles and Mabel Reynard who predeceased her. Her husband of 63 years, Raymond, predeceased her in 2007. Julia is survived by her daughter, Shirley Clark (John) and her two grandchildren, Tracey and Jason. Judy met her husband on a "blind date" in 1942 when he was stationed with the R.C.A.F. near her home town. They were married June 3, 1944. Judy arrived in Canada June 12, 1945. During the war Judy joined the ATS as a radio location operator (radar in its infancy) in 1942 and left the army in 1945. There will be no service as per her request, Providence Funeral Homes Inc. will be in charge of cremation.

KEMP, THOMAS JAMES, FCGA: November 25, 1940 May 29, 2015 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Tom Kemp after a short struggle with ALS. Tom moved to Penticton in 1972 with his wife Carol and their 2 children, Brenda and Andrea. He opened an accounting practice on his own and then later partnered with his friend and colleague Bob Harvey where they formed Kemp Harvey and Co., CGA's, which still operates today. There are now 7 Kemp Harvey offices throughout the province, something that Tom was extremely proud of. Tom partially retired in 1999, and the Penticton office he helped create, is now operated by his daughter Andrea and her business partner Nicole Thompson. Throughout his life, Tom was an active Member of the CGA Association of BC and in 1989 he was President. He was also a member of the CGA Board of Canada. From the beginning, Tom was active member in the community. He was a member of the Peach Festival Society, Kiwanis, Ironman Canada, VFCU, Penticton Yacht Club, and several other boards. Tom had the opportunity to live his dream of sailing and living on a boat in Mexico, and in 1999 he purchased a 42 foot sailboat which he sailed for several years. He loved the experience in Mexico so much that after that he built a home and spent his winters there until his passing. He was an athletic man participating in skiing, old timers hockey, ice-boating, sailing and golf. After high school Tom played hockey for Notre Dame College and the Nelson Maple Leafs. Tom also loved animals and had a special way with them. His companion Bailey stood faithfully by him to the end. Tom is survived by his loving partner Liz Bingham, daughters Brenda (Robyn), Andrea (Rick), former spouse and long-time friend Carol Kemp, and brother Albert (Barb). Tom loved to dance and was an outgoing man; always the life of the party. To celebrate that outgoing personality of his, the family will be hosting a casual and informal open house at Theo's Restaurant on Saturday June 6 from 1:00 to 4:00. She is survived by her sister Muriel in England, all her children, Lesley (Ben) Draper, Sheila North, Dorothy (Bob) Haddrell, Frances (Jim) Depper George, Michael (Edith) Waterhouse, Cynthia (Traffy) Waterhouse-Baker, and 70 other progeny, and other extended family she helped raise or mentor. She was predeceased by her husbands Thomas Herbert Waterhouse, and R.Bruce Graham, and 2 grandchildren, Kristie and Ryan. BELBIN, Gary Thomas: With heavy hearts and tremendous sorrow, we announce the passing of Gary Thomas Belbin, on May 27th, at the age of 64. Gary was born in Placentia, Newfoundland, on July 11th, 1950. He became a Professional Engineer and spent most of his successful career with Imperial Oil Ltd. He was predeceased by his mother, Ellen Belbin and his mother-in-law, Joan Coughlan. Left to mourn are his loving wife of 45 years, Lynn, his children Jillian (Lincoln Loo) and Matthew (Marianne Mandrusiak) and his grandchildren Grace and Nathan Loo, his "Sweethearts." He also leaves to mourn his father Thomas Belbin, sister Cathy, and brothers Glen, of St. John's Nfld, Raymond, of Kelowna and Thomas, of New York. His father-in-law, William Coughlan, of Kelowna will forever miss his "special son-in-law." He will be sorely missed by numerous relatives and many cherished friends across the country. He was the sixth oldest of 13 children. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Rita and will be missed by his immediate family: Margaret (Gene) Beaudoin, Ann-Marie (Dan) Reimer, Joe (Liz), Cecilia (Rob) Vaile, Tom. Predeceased by his brother Nick (1984) and Freddy (1970). OPA to Allison (Adam), Jayden (Alyssa), Tanis ( Jesse), Corina (Shane), Jarrod, Andrea (Justin), Curtis, Dylan (Cassandra), Brett, Jaryn, and Kirstie. GREAT OPA to Annalie, Nicholas, Thomas, Johnny, Lennon and Olivia. Survived by Sister Gre Van Wieringen and numerous relatives in Holland, New Zealand and Canada. Leo immigrated to Canada in 1950 as a farm worker, then went on to work on the CPR and Dawson & Wade Highway Construction. He was passionate about farming and purchased the Conroy dairy farm in the Ellison District, which was one of the last remaining dairy farms in the area. TOIJONEN, Impi Marjatta: May 26, 1925 - May 23, 2015, 89 years old. Predeceased by her husband William in 2006. William and Impi immigrated to Canada from Finland in 1951 and lived in many different cities in British Columbia. Both were hardworking, resourceful and creative. To achieve a high level of self-sufficiency, they grew their own vegetables and fruit and raised animals. Both left a legacy of their creative efforts. William, a musician and self-taught carpenter left many well-built homes and pieces of furniture. Impi , an excellent homemaker and seamstress left a legacy of beautiful knitted and crocheted clothing, bedspreads and fine needlework. Impi will be sadly missed by her son, Paul Toijonen, daughters, Paivi Goward (Al) ,and Mary Toijonen (Robin Durrant) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A private service will be held at a later date.

He loved his hunting in younger years but was always ready for a fishing trip. Hockey and Baseball were his passion. Family gatherings were always memorable, as were card and board games. He will be missed by all of his wonderful friends and the stories they shared. She and Jake chose to retire to Kelowna, BC in 1987, where they enjoyed the fellowship of many friends, but moved back to Winnipeg in 2001 because of failing health of daughter Colleen. On June 23, 2014 she was admitted to Bethania Personal Care Home. As a family, we are so very grateful for the wonderful loving care that Tina received there during her struggle with dementia. Tina was predeceased by her parents - David and Maria Fehr, daughter Colleen, and 3 sisters - Mary, Helen, and Elsie. She is survived by her husband Jake, daughter Corinne (Klaus Dittberner), daughter Jacquie, 4 grandchildren, and 8 great- grandchildren. Tina Dyck was born on May 15, 1931 in Haskett, Manitoba, the fourth of 5 girls, to David and Maria Fehr. She passed into the presence of her Lord on June 2, 2015 at the Bethania Nursing Home in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Newhook, Frances Wilma: 6 August 1933 - 24 May 2015 The family of Wilma Newhook regret to announce her death in Nanaimo on 24th May 2015. She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Delmer Newhook (2011), her parents J. Archie Handlen (1987) and Minnie (Ennis) Handlen (1989) in Kelowna and her sister Marian Charron (1984). Wilma is survived by her daughters Deborah and Lynn (Al Foster) of Nanaimo and sons Robert, Edmonton and David (Tara), Drumheller, ten grandchildren and her sister Lorainne McLarty, Kelowna. Wilma was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary at 256 Lantzville Legion, and TOPS for many years, as well as other volunteer organizations. Gary Battagin of Calgary passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at the age of 73 years after a long illness. Gary was a commercial pilot and business man. He missed his calling, as he would have loved to have been an RCMP officer like his best friend, Don McDermid. While living in Whitecourt, Gary went on ride alongs, and totally entertained the officers with his tales and with his humour. When he left Whitecourt, the local detachment gave a party for him along with a parting gift of a framed commendation and an RCMP painting, signed by everyone there. Wherever Gary went, he made people laugh with his unique style of humour. In the end, he lived his life the way he wanted, doing the things he loved with friends. He will be missed by them, and especially by his special friend, George Samchuk. Gary is survived by his children, Lisa Schuster and David (Ki) Battagin, as well as his grandchildren, Devon Schuster, Chelsea Schuster, and Michael Battagin, his sister, Doreen Olynyk, and nieces Cara Graham and Heather Johannsen, sister-in-law Ellen Battagin, niece and nephew Becky Battagin and Mario Battagin. He was predeceased his infant son Alan, his parents Mary and Mario Battagin, brother Rowland Battagin and brother-in-law John Olynyk. His urn will be buried near his infant son, Alan, in Mayerthorpe, in the summer, where a celebration of his life will take place. James, Leslie Lewis: Les James passed away suddenly on May 30, 2015 in Kelowna, BC.
