CLARK, Darren George "DarDar": September 18, 1976 - Etobicoke, ON. April 5, 2015 - Calgary, AB. Darren Clark passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the age of 38 years. Darren was born in Etobicoke, Ontario. He was employed by Tenaris as a steel worker for nineteen years and was an active member of the union. He loved quadding, camping, summers in Sicamous, BC, music and was an electronics whiz. He was lovingly known as "Geffer" by his sister and "DarDar" by Abby and Gracie. Darren was the best uncle and constant in his two nieces lives. Abby (aka Abb's) and Gracie (aka Graciegirl) thought he hung the moon. Darren was the only one who could console Abby when she was an infant crying. His gentle and laid back demeanor had a calming effect on anyone in his presence. Darren could walk into a room full of strangers and walk out knowing everyone's name. Darren had a big heart, infectious laugh, vibrant spirit and was a Christian with strong religious beliefs. We take refuge in the fact he is now in the arms of his grandparents Janet &Floyd Todd, and Abigail & George Clark. Darren is survived by his Mom and Dad, Jean and George Clark; sister and brother in law Tanya and Shane Sealock; nieces Abby and Gracie; cousins Barry (Denise) Todd, Shane Todd, Murray (Dana) Cran, Allyson (Dee) Swan, Kevin (Lorraine) McKie, Robert McKie and Darren (Tanya) McKie, James Armstrong, David (Jenine) Armstrong; aunts and uncles Barry (Marion) Todd, Janice Todd, Peggy (Ron) Cran and Isobel McKie. Darren will also be missed by his beloved companion Billie. A Celebration of Darren's Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 - 40th Street S.E. NAHM, Francis Mae (nee Lander): Mae passed away in Vancouver General Hospital, with family present, on April 2, 2015, following a brain aneurysm. Mae was born on a farm near Wolseley, Saskatchewan on October 6, 1927, the oldest of five siblings and was one of many rural Saskatchewan students that used 'horse' power instead of a bus to get to school. Mae graduated from Wolseley High School in 1946 and after attending Balfour Tech in Regina, entered the workforce. In 1953, accompanied by sister Joy, Mae came to Kelowna to work for the Provincial Government. Here Mae met and married Tilman Nahm, the evening operator at Canadian National Telegraphs for many years. They married in June 1955, buying orchards in the Benvoulin area of Kelowna, growing fruit until 1988. In 1989 they moved north to Grindrod to achieve their lifelong dream of owning a ranch. They developed their hobby ranch on the banks of the Shuswap River in a beautiful setting that was Mae's Happy Home until her death. In these lovely surroundings, Mae enjoyed nature, feeding wild birds, gardening and growing and preserving an amazing bounty of fruits, vegetables, nuts and berries. Mae is survived by her lifelong partner and very best friend, Tilman; daughter Marianne (Daryl Calder) of Cranbrook, son Karl (Monica) of Grindrod, son Ken of Salmon Arm, daughter Alison (Bill Gemmill) of Mission, grandchildren Keegan, Brendon, Tyrell and Risa Gemmill and Kelvin and Blair Nahm, and great granddaughter, Harper Gemmill. She is also survived by her four siblings, Joy Mackay (Peter) of Aldergrove, Lorna Scott (Alan, deceased) of Wolseley, Leo Lander (Shirley) of Regina and Bill Lander (Dorene) of Westbank and brother-in-law Gerry Nahm (Irene) of Vernon and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. There will be no funeral service at Mae's request. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. The family expresses their sincere appreciation to all the doctors, nurses, care workers, and ground and air ambulance personnel for their outstanding care and comfort of Mae. MARTIN, Dorothy Isabel (nee Frank): June 29, 1929 - April 1, 2015. It is with a deep sadness in our hearts that we have had to say goodbye to a very unique woman. Dot is survived by her step-daughter Wendy Christiansen, step-grandsons Bryan and Kyle and step-son Wayne Martin as well as a copious number of nieces and nephews. Dot was born in Gull Lake, SK. and raised on the farm in Eastend, SK. until she was 12 and then moved to Vancouver, BC. with her parents, completed her education then entered the work force, met her husband and married in 1954.  Dot was predeceased by her best friend and beloved husband Kendall 'Kenny' Edward Martin in 2007, her parents, Clara Louise Frank (nee Schultz) and Edmund Boniface Frank, six older brothers and sisters, Clarence, Rose, Arlene, Marguerite, Leonard and Stanley. Dot was dearly loved by her family and friends. She had a heart so full of love and spread it generously to all without reservation and it was contagious. Dot loved to sing and play her guitar, dance, cook, do arts and crafts, fish (especially at Canim Lake with family and friends), rearrange furniture and repaint walls. If you spoke to any of her family and friends, they would all have a favourite story to tell about her and no two stories would be the same. The unique thing about Dot is that you never heard her complain, she faced life head on, accepted it, and learned from it but always with that same sense of humour and a curiosity as to what was around the next corner. Dot was always there for family and friends through thick and thin and never let them down. She was a true friend; an Auntie Mame and Lucille Ball all rolled into one. You could see how and why her Kenny loved her so much and everyone else who came around her. Dot spent 8 happy years entertaining everyone and making some special friends at Charles Manor after Kenny passed away. Our thanx to everyone there who made her stay so memorable. We wish to express a VERY SPECIAL HEARTFELT THANK YOU to ALL of the staff and volunteers at Moog and Friends Hospice House in Penticton. Words cannot describe the patience, kind words, thoughtfulness, and most of all the compassion shared with Dot and her family especially in her last days. On a visit to Dot, in hospice, her niece Rita asked her "Do you know that when you leave through that door how much you are loved?" Dot's reply was, "Yes".
